Curriculum

Our Primary (I to V)- At Primary level, we initiate students to build upon their existing knowledge and enthusiasm for continued learning. As they progress through this stage, we witness in action their exploratory spirit and quest for knowledge, motivated by the endeavour for learning and building up the foundation that they have imbibed from their acquired skills. At this level, the emphasis is on the learning and understanding of concepts through a curriculum that is designed to meet its attributes and vision which is engaging and relevant, yet challenging. We follow a thematic and inter-disciplinary approach to learning.
The curriculum permits a wide scope for exploring individual interests and developing curiosity, self-reliance and teamwork. The individual capabilities and interests of each student are addressed, thereby not confining learning to academics alone. Sports and other activities are well integrated within the curriculum.

Our Middle Level (VI to VIII)- The curriculum of middle school offers maximum flexibility. The main objective at school is to take up the responsibility of grooming children holistically, strengthening the scholastic and co-scholastic areas while reinforcing the value system. This age group is the most turbulent in terms of the emotional quotient, hence, maintaining a balance is a very challenging task for both the school and the parents. In middle school, students are trained to acquire organizational and analytical skills and also gain confidence for year-end examinations.
Thus at SXHS, we emphasize a structured learning process, where the teacher facilitates, inspires, and imparts a strong practical slant to the entire learning experience by utilizing varied, interactive and skill-based teaching.
The various initiatives taken up by the school aim at blending a comprehensive classroom teaching program with a variety of community-oriented activities providing students with abundant opportunities for enriching personal growth, enhancing civic awareness, and a progressive global outlook.

Secondary Level (IX & X)- The school aims to provide ample scope for holistic development of the students. The school takes utmost care to follow the guidelines laid down by CBSE.
The Curriculum for classes IX & X is so designed that it provides students a broad and balanced understanding of subjects including Languages, Mathematics, Science and Social Science to enable students to communicate effectively, analyze information, make informed decisions, construct their world view in alignment with constitutional values and move ahead in the direction of becoming productive citizens.
As per CBSE guidelines, the recent focus is on the development of 21st century skills in such settings where each student feels independent, safe and comfortable with their learning.

Senior Secondary Level (XI & XII)- Students during this period are equipped with self- confidence, so that they can choose a good befitting career for themselves and become an asset not only for themselves but also for their families and the nation as a whole. Discipline is emphasized from the very beginning and capacity building for self-sufficiency is focused upon.
